DescriptionPosition Overview:
The
IT Procurement & Asset Manager is responsible for technology vendor management and strategically sourcing, purchasing, tracking, and managing all technology-related goods and services across the organization. This role ensures that IT assets (hardware, software, licensing, and cloud services) are acquired cost-effectively, inventoried accurately, deployed efficiently, and maintained throughout their lifecycle.
- Lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for IT hardware, software, cloud services, telecommunications, and related technologies.
- Develop, negotiate, and manage vendor contracts, pricing agreements, and service-level commitments.
- Maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers, VARs, and service providers to ensure timely delivery and competitive pricing.
- Coordinate with Legal and Finance to manage contract terms, renewals, licensing compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Evaluate vendor proposals, conduct comparative analyses, and recommend procurement decisions aligned with company objectives.
- Maintain and optimize an accurate asset inventory using ITAM or ITSM systems.
- Establish policies, standards, and procedures for asset tracking, auditing, and lifecycle operations.
- Ensure software licensing compliance and maintain documentation for audits.
- Track spending against budget and provide cost optimization recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Service Desk, Security, and Project teams to understand equipment and software requirements.
- Ensure procurement processes adhere to corporate policies, cybersecurity requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and data reporting related to IT asset and vendor management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of technology vendor ecosystems (hardware, software, cloud).
- Proficiency with ITAM/ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Freshservice, etc.) and procurement systems.
- Understanding of software licensing models (Microsoft, Autodesk, Adobe, etc.) and hardware lifecycle management.
- Effectively presents information to top management and other groups.
- Organizes and manages time, duties, and activities efficiently.
- Utilizes Microsoft Office-based applications and other software systems appropriate for this role.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or related field. 5+ years of experience in IT procurement, asset management, or supply-chain roles. Experience working in a large, multi-location environment; construction or field-operations experience preferred.
