Full Job Description
Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking an IT Operations Engineer to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing technical support to HRTers around the globe, while also driving automation and engineering solutions to improve scalability and efficiency. You'll work closely with IT leadership to deliver projects, meet service-level objectives, and continuously improve internal processes.

We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong communication and collaboration skills. The ideal candidate brings a positive attitude and a customer service mindset to deliver outstanding support to internal users. This role is expected to be onsite up to 80% of the time.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain automations with code to streamline recurring IT support tasks, reduce manual toil, and improve team scalability
  • Deliver responsive and in-depth technical support for end users, serving as a high-level escalation point for advanced Windows endpoint issues
  • Administer and support core IT platforms and SaaS tools including Okta, Google Workspace, Jira, Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom, and others
  • Partner with Technical Procurement to ensure accurate tracking, lifecycle management, and compliance of IT assets
  • Co-own the onboarding process for user accounts and hardware in your region, ensuring a seamless experience for new hires
  • Maintain and improve internal documentation to serve as a resource for the IT team and broader organization
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for IT support coverage, which may include occasional weekend shifts

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of IT support experience in fast-paced, tech driven environments
  • Proficiency across macOS, Linux, and Windows operating systems, with strong technical intuition for diagnosing Windows performance issues, driver conflicts, and application errors
  • Hands-on experience administering core SaaS platforms such as Okta, Google Workspace, Jira, Slack, and Zoom
  • Familiarity with code version control systems like Git, and an understanding of developer workflows including CI/CD tooling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to identify root causes, detect patterns, and work independently
  • Customer-focused mindset with a proactive, positive attitude and strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 lbs

Annual base salary range of $100,000 to $150,000. Pay (base and bonus) may vary depending on job-related skills and experience. A sign-on and discretionary performance bonus may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to company-paid medical and/or other benefits.
