Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on IT Manager to own all aspects of the company's internal technology operations across multiple office locations. This role serves as the single point of accountability for IT infrastructure, end-user support, security, and systems administration within a Microsoft / Azure cloud environment. The IT Manager will work closely with our managed service provider (MSP) to ensure reliable day-to-day operations while driving improvements to our technology stack. Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Infrastructure
- Oversee all internal IT operations, serving as the primary technology resource for the organization
- Manage the relationship with our outsourced MSP, including SLA accountability, escalations, and project coordination
- Administer and maintain the Microsoft 365 environment (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID)
- Manage Azure cloud infrastructure including virtual machines, networking, storage, and security configurations
- Ensure reliable performance of network infrastructure, internet connectivity, and VoIP/phone systems across all offices
- Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation
- Manage IT budget, including hardware/software procurement, licensing renewals, and MSP contract costs
End-User Support & Equipment Management
- Provide in-house technical support to staff across all locations, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Manage the full lifecycle of IT equipment-procurement, imaging, deployment, and retirement
- Lead IT onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring new hires are set up and departing employees are properly deactivated
- Maintain asset inventory and equipment standards across the organization
- Travel regularly between NY and NJ offices to provide on-site support, with occasional travel to other locations as needed
Security & Compliance
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices, including endpoint protection, MFA, conditional access, and data loss prevention
- Manage backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity
- Coordinate vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts with the MSP
- Ensure compliance with any client or regulatory IT security requirements
- Lead incident response efforts and conduct post-incident reviews
Strategic Planning & Projects
- Evaluate current systems and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, reduce cost, or mitigate risk
- Lead technology projects from planning through implementation (migrations, deployments, integrations)
- Research and recommend new tools and technologies that support business growth
- Partner with leadership to align IT strategy with company objectives
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including 2+ years in a management or lead role
- Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
- Travel to NY/NJ offices required
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, switching)
- Experience managing an MSP or outsourced IT vendor relationship
- Proven ability to manage IT projects from conception to completion
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware and software
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regular multi-site travel
Preferred
- Experience in construction, facilities management, or field-services industries
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., AZ-104 Azure Administrator, MS-102 Microsoft 365 Administrator)
- Security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, AZ-500)
- ITIL foundation or project management experience
- Experience with Sage 300 or similar ERP systems
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to construction or government contracting
- Programing experience is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
$120K-$140K DOE- Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Benefits package includes (ABFS standard items)
