IT Manager - Data & Analytics (full time)

We are seeking a talented and motivated Manager of Data & Analytics with hands-on experience in industry standard data platforms (Apache Spark and Microsoft Fabric to join our dynamic data engineering team. In this role, you will be at the heart of our data initiatives, designing robust data pipelines, optimizing data architectures, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

The role would be expected to work independently and/or in conjunction with appropriate business unit/IT leaders or cross-functional teams during any engagement. They would be tasked with understanding technological and business problems and focused on delivering cutting-edge solutions. The Manager of Data and Analytics must possess the ability to architect or integrate the appropriate solution from the ground up based on a set of business requirements.

• In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Spark and Microsoft Fabric, supporting the processing of large volumes of structured and unstructured data
• You will integrate data from a variety of internal and external sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability throughout the entire data lifecycle
• A key part of the role is supporting the reporting and analytics needs of the Canadian business by delivering reliable, accessible, and high-quality data solutions
• You will monitor and optimize ETL/ELT processes, continuously improving performance, scalability, and cost efficiency while identifying and resolving bottlenecks
• The role includes promoting strong data quality and governance practices, including data cataloging, lineage, compliance, and adherence to organizational standards
• You will work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, data scientists, and cross-functional IT teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions that support business objectives
• Maintaining clear and accurate documentation for data pipelines, workflows, architectures, and processes is an important part of ensuring long-term success and sustainability
• You will stay current on emerging data engineering technologies and best practices, identifying opportunities to enhance the organization's data platform and capabilities
• Troubleshooting and resolving data pipeline, system, and infrastructure issues will be an ongoing responsibility to ensure a reliable and resilient data environment
• A strong focus on data security and privacy is essential, ensuring sensitive information is managed in accordance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements

What makes you great*

• The role is best suited for someone with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, along with 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture
• You will bring hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Microsoft Fabric, and cloud-based data platforms, with Azure experience considered a strong asset
• Strong technical skills in SQL, Python, and/or Scala are important, along with a solid understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and distributed systems
• You will have experience designing, building, and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines that support scalable and reliable data solutions
• The role requires strong SQL Server experience, including database development, table creation, indexing, job scheduling, and performance optimization
• Experience supporting Power BI and business reporting needs is important, including creating data structures and delivering ad hoc insights to stakeholders
• Familiarity with Visual Studio and SSIS, including package development, deployment, and scheduling, will help support data integration and automation initiatives
• A strong understanding of data governance, data quality, security, and compliance best practices is essential
• Exposure to modern technologies and methodologies such as real-time data processing, DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and streaming platforms is considered a strong asset
• Success in this role comes from strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective collaboration, and the ability to support broader IT and business projects as needed

This is an existing position with a minimum annual salary of $105,500.
