IT Infrastructure Supervisor
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As the IT Infrastructure Supervisor, you will lead day-to-day site IT support operations and supervise a team of 2–3 analysts. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable hardware, software, server, and network support while driving timely issue resolution, system uptime, and effective ticket management. The position also provides hands-on technical guidance and supports continuous improvement of site IT processes, dashboards, and service performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support a team of 2–3 IT analysts, including assigning work, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and development.
- Oversee standard and local hardware support for workstations, laptops, tablets, Zebra and HP printers, RF devices, and networking equipment.
- Oversee standard and local software support for Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office suite, Lotus Notes databases, and Security software.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of site dashboards covering computers, printers, servers, networking equipment, IT work tickets, and PC/server vulnerabilities.
- Coordinate and support incident response, troubleshooting, and problem resolution to maximize site-related resource uptime.
- Participate in and help manage after-hours support coverage and escalation response as needed.
- Monitor service requests and incident tickets to ensure timely resolution and adherence to service expectations.
- Identify recurring technical issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Partner with site leadership, users, and broader IT teams to support operational needs and infrastructure stability.
- Maintain compliance with IT standards, security requirements, and operational procedures.
- Support asset visibility, vulnerability tracking, and local infrastructure health reporting.
- Drive a customer-focused support environment with clear communication and effective prioritization.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology (completed and verified prior to start)
- Five (5 ) years of experience in Information Technology in a manufacturing, private, public, government, or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Two (2) years’ of previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
- Experience in IT support, infrastructure support, or end-user computing environments
- Working knowledge of workstation, laptop, tablet, printer, server, and networking support.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced support environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to support after-hours escalations as business needs require
Work location:
- Dekalb, IL (Onsite, 5 days per week)
Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international
Relocation: Is not authorized
