Location: MA-BostonJob Title: IT Engineer - WFXT TVPosition OverviewWFXT TV is looking for an experienced Broadcast IT Engineer, with a solid IT background and experience in a Broadcast facility.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIT Support- Handle all aspects of Employee onboarding
- Provide IT support for computers, servers, and software used by staff
- Assist with network connectivity and IP-based systems used in production and broadcasting.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and provide user support as needed
- Help maintain data storage, backups, and system security practices
- Design, configure and maintain IT and Broadcast Server Systems
Broadcast Operations- Support the setup, operation, and maintenance of television broadcast and production equipment
- Assist with live broadcasts and recorded productions to ensure reliable on-air performance
- Monitor equipment and systems to identify and resolve technical issues
- Perform routine maintenance and assist with equipment upgrades
- Help document technical processes and workflows
Collaboration & Support- Work closely with production, engineering, and IT teams to support daily operations
- Communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical staff
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers when necessary
- Participate in on-call or after-hours support as required for broadcasts
Minimum Qualifications- An associates degree or training in Broadcast Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Basic knowledge of computer systems, networking, and troubleshooting
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift and move broadcast or IT equipment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed
- Comfortable working in studio, control room, and office environments
- Onsite essential role
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in engineering or information systems preferred
- Familiarity with IP-based broadcast or production systems
- 2+ years' experience working with television production or broadcast environments
- Relevant technical certifications (broadcast or IT-related)
- Experience supporting live events or time-sensitive operations
The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 annually to $110,000.00
