Overview

The IT Business Partner serves as the primary operational liaison between the Information Technology function and assigned regional business units or functional areas. This role acts as a trusted technical advisor to functional leadership teams, driving the alignment of business unit requirements with the corporate technology roadmap. The position facilitates the demand management process, identifying functional gaps and technical capabilities that optimize operational efficiency, customer service delivery, and business return on investment. Key stakeholders rely on this position to manage the technical execution of the localized application portfolio, lead cross-functional capability reviews, and ensure value realization across technology investments.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with regional business leaders and IT stakeholders to translate long-term business goals into documented functional requirements and digital product roadmaps.
  • Facilitate regular steering reviews with functional teams to review technology investments, track project intake status, and prioritize resource allocations.
  • Support the construction of comprehensive business cases for proposed technology investments, tracking total cost of ownership models and benefits realization data.
  • Manage the organizational readiness and operational change tracks associated with the deployment of new software platforms and technical workflows.
  • Maintain the multi-year technology capability register for assigned business segments, balancing application stability parameters with ongoing feature modifications.
  • Streamline the application intake pipeline by consolidating disparate business requests into shared enterprise platforms to eliminate localized tools.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional technical teams, including enterprise architecture, information security, data analytics, and infrastructure delivery, to ensure project outputs match functional definitions.
  • Monitor operational expense forecasts for the assigned business technology portfolio to identify technical cost-optimization opportunities.
  • Partner with compliance and risk officers to isolate potential technology delivery exposures, verify application data security, and confirm regulatory alignment.
  • Gather information to evaluate the performance of third-party software vendors and external technical consulting agreements against established service level definitions.
  • Construct functional dashboards and status reports outlining technology platform health, pipeline updates, and operational performance metrics for IT leadership reviews.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related business field OR equivalent years of experience. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of applicable professional experience for each year of college requested.
  • Master's degree in a technical or business management field preferred.

Experience
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive professional experience within information technology strategy, business relationship management, or technical program delivery required.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating large-scale digital deployments, system integrations, or multi-platform data migrations across complex business matrix environments required.
  • Practical experience monitoring project budgets, performing technical cost-benefit evaluations, and conducting software return on investment reviews required.
  • Broad technical literacy across enterprise application suites, cloud-based data ecosystems, and customer relationship management systems required.

Skills & Competencies
  • Deep understanding of functional business relationship management principles, software delivery lifecycles, and demand prioritization methodologies.
  • Advanced analytical capability with the capacity to interpret business trends and formulate technical action plans that optimize functional outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills necessary to articulate complex technical limitations through clear, plain-language business narratives.
  • Strong consulting and consensus-building capabilities to negotiate deliverables and resolve technical requirements conflicts across competing business divisions.
  • Ability to work autonomously, coordinate multi-functional project tracks, and maintain operational focus during tight project deployment timelines.
