Full Job Description
CTG is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to support our client. This role is ideal for a seasoned Business Analyst with a strong background in software development environments and the financial services industry. The successful candidate will partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, analyze business needs, facilitate solution design, and support the successful delivery of technology initiatives throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Location: New York, NY

Duration: 11 months

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, development teams, and vendors.
  • Lead requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, and business process discussions.
  • Perform impact analysis and gap analysis to support business and technology changes.
  • Create business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support all phases of the SDLC, ensuring business needs are accurately translated into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and project teams to clarify requirements and resolve functional issues.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution, and solution validation.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations while communicating project status, risks, and business impacts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes and project delivery practices.

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of Business Analyst experience within technology or software development environments.
  • Previous experience in financial services, asset management, or fintech is required.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Demonstrated expertise in requirements elicitation, business analysis, documentation, stakeholder management, and solution delivery.
  • Proven ability to conduct impact analysis, gap analysis, business process mapping, and use case development.
  • Experience facilitating requirements workshops and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business leaders, vendors, and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with SQL for basic data validation and analysis.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence.
  • Proven ability to quickly integrate into fast-paced project environments and contribute immediately.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
