The solution architect's target role:

Application solution architecture advisor

Supports the solutions integration architecture advisor and their application scope:
  • Designs the application and functional layer of the solution architecture, taking business needs (functional and non-functional) into account
  • Aligns the functional and application layer with architecture targets and other layers of the solution architecture
  • Validates compliance with Desjardins Group's and sectors' IT/software frameworks (security, infrastructure, platforms, etc.) that could have an impact on the proposed solution
  • Ensures the reuse of common services and sector-specific services, especially shared solutions and reusable patterns
  • Helps assess the costs (recurring and non-recurring) of the solutions architecture and optimize solution architecture based on the 4 quality dimensions
  • Contributes to strategies (implementation, quality, deployment)
  • Directs and supports the landing of solution architecture within the delivery team


Integration solution architecture advisor

In feasibility and design:
  • Is accountable for the design of IT solution architectures, taking into account business needs (functional and non-functional), based on architecture targets and shared services, in accordance with norms and standards, and in coordination with the architectural triad
  • Integrates the various layers of architecture into a relevant, consistent, economical and sustainable IT solution, in coordination with experts from each layer of IT architecture
  • Optimizes solution architecture around the 4 quality dimensions: alignment of operations architecture, technical quality, meeting needs and costs/benefits
  • Contributes to strategies (implementation, quality, deployment)
  • Transfers the solution architecture to the delivery manager
  • Actively monitors opportunities offered by new technologies and business approaches
