About the Role

Franklin Equity is seeking an Investment Technology Business Solutions Lead to serve as the strategic bridge between our investment professionals and technology teams. This highly visible role will partner closely with the Director of Strategic Planning & Operations, Chief Investment Officers, portfolio managers, research analysts, operations leaders, and technology stakeholders to improve how the investment team uses data, reporting, automation, and artificial intelligence.

The successful candidate will combine strong investment management business acumen with hands-on technical expertise to design and deliver practical solutions that improve research workflows, portfolio management processes, operational efficiency, reporting, and decision-making. This person will be expected to build Power BI dashboards and reporting tools, identify opportunities to automate manual processes, support AI adoption, and partner with internal technology teams and external vendors to deliver scalable business solutions.

This role is ideal for a hands-on technology professional who enjoys understanding complex business problems, translating needs into solutions, influencing senior stakeholders, and helping an investment organization use technology more effectively. The position will report to the Director of Strategic Planning and Operations for Franklin Equity.

How You Will Add Value

  • Serve as a trusted technology partner to Franklin Equity leadership and investment teams.
  • Partner with Director of Strategic Planning & Operations. CIOs, portfolio managers, analysts, and operations leaders to understand business priorities.
  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards for fund and portfolio reporting.
  • Develop reporting solutions for performance, activity, holdings, portfolio statistics, and operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve investment research, portfolio management, and operational workflows.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements for technology teams and vendors.
  • Partner with Franklin Templeton Technology teams to prioritize and deliver business solutions.
  • Collaborate with vendors such as FactSet, Bloomberg, and other financial data providers.
  • Evaluate tools, data sources, and integrations that can improve reporting and decision-making.
  • Champion practical AI use cases across investment research, portfolio management, and operations.
  • Help business users adopt new tools through communication, training, and change management.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation and ongoing enhancement.
  • Develop and maintain governance practices for data, reporting, dashboards, and shared tools.
  • Support the development and improvement of Franklin Equity shared information resources.

Required Technical Skills
  • Hands-on experience building dashboards and reporting solutions in Power BI.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and manipulation.
  • Experience with SharePoint or similar collaboration and content management platforms.
  • Experience with Python scripting, automation, or related workflow improvement tools.
  • Understanding of data integration concepts, application programming interfaces, or database tools.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools, large language models, or Microsoft Copilot.
  • Experience with financial data platforms such as FactSet, Bloomberg, or similar systems.

  • Strong business judgment and curiosity about investment management workflows.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical business users.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting investment research, portfolio management, investment operations, or front-office reporting.
  • Experience in asset management, wealth management, investment consulting, or capital markets.
  • Experience and/or expertise with range of programs:
  • Microsoft Excel (advanced), Power BI, SharePoint, Python scripting/automation
  • AI (LLM tools, MSFT Co-Pilot, AI/ML concepts)
  • Development/automation tools (Git/Bitbucket, PowerApps, etc)
  • Data/integration tools (Snowflake. REST, APIs, etc)
  • Financial data platforms (FactSet, Bloomberg)
  • Experience helping business teams evaluate and adopt artificial intelligence or automation solutions.
  • Experience developing technology roadmaps, governance models, or scalable reporting frameworks.


Work Schedule and Location

  • Work Location: San Mateo CA, Short Hills NJ, or New York City
  • In office 4 days per week
