Role Overview:As an Investment Data Analyst in Product Data Solutions (PDS) Analytics team, you will play a critical role in supporting data management and analytics reporting for New York Life Investment Management by providing high-quality and reliable data sets. This position is responsible for creating and supporting analytics used to assess a broad range of investment strategies, including equity, fixed income, and alternative investments. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, experience working with complex investment data, and a passion for delivering high-quality and reliable data sets. They should also have experience addressing end-user inquiries and collaborating effectively with business, operations, and technology stakeholders. Technical proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL- as well as familiarity with data visualization tools - is highly valued in this role.
What You'll Do:As a member of the PDS Analytics team, you will focus on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of investment data sourced from various internal and external systems, delivering it in a timely manner for downstream consumption. You will play a key role in building repeatable and scalable processes, and once established, work collaboratively with other team members to automate these workflows and enhance overall operational efficiency. You will be responsible for ensuring data accuracy through meticulous reconciliation processes and driving efficiency by automating end-to-end data workflows.
- Perform data reconciliation to ensure accuracy and integrity within portfolio analytics systems
- Collaborate closely with the technology team to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent delivery of data across systems
- Support the reporting needs of internal clients, including sales, marketing, risk oversight and investment teams, by delivering relevant and reliable data
- Assist in the daily reporting process, ensuring consistency, completeness, and timely delivery of recurring portfolio reports
- Automate end-to-end data processes to improve efficiency
What You'll Bring:Solid understanding of a wide range of financial instruments, including equities, fixed income, and derivatives. You have hands-on experience with portfolio analytics tools and are comfortable working with large datasets, particularly using SQL for data extraction and analysis. Beyond your technical expertise, you possess strong communication skills and can clearly articulate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your attention to detail allows you to critically evaluate data and ensure its accuracy and integrity.
Required Skills:- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Finance, Economics, Data Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quantitative role within Investment services
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments, including equities, fixed income, futures, foreign exchange (FX), options, bank debt, swaps, and other derivatives.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Hands-on experience supporting performance and risk-based platforms such as FactSet, Bloomberg, or Aladdin
- Expertise in crafting advanced SQL queries for comprehensive data analysis
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive projects efficiently
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills:- CFA Charter holder preferred
- Expertise in coding languages such as Python, C#, or Java preferred
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, or Power BI preferred
- Experience with document automation tools such as Seismic LiveDocs or Vermillion preferred

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
