FMI Corporation is seeking an experienced investment banking professional to join FMI Capital Advisors-our registered broker/dealer and investment banking group-as a Vice President within our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Advisory practice.

In this role, you will lead multi-disciplinary deal teams, manage end-to-end transaction execution, and engage directly with business owners and their leadership teams. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative and entrepreneurial, with strong process execution skills and the ability to quickly develop expertise in ESOP transactions and related valuation, tax, and structuring concepts.

This is a full-time opportunity. Denver, Colorado is our preferred location for this role. However, we recognize that the right candidate may be located elsewhere and are open to a remote work arrangement. This role requires approximately 10-30% travel to client sites and FMI offices as needed.

All applicants for employment must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.

Responsibilities
  • Lead or co-lead transaction execution of ESOP advisory mandates-including valuations, capital structure analysis, lender engagement, and documentation through closing.
  • Support business development efforts for Managing Directors, including prospect research, pitch development, and participation in prospect meetings.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and serve as a key point of contact throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Mentor and manage Associates and Analysts across multiple engagements.
  • Develop thought leadership and represent FMI at industry events, including those focused on employee ownership and succession planning.
  • Uphold FMI's Code of Conduct and contribute to practice development and broader firm initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or transaction advisory experience, or 3+ years post-MBA, with demonstrated progression.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex transactions and lead junior team members in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior ESOP transaction experience is highly valued but not required-must be eager to learn and build technical knowledge in this space.
  • Familiarity with the construction or engineering sectors is a plus.

Minimum compensation for this position is $180K plus annual bonus.

FMI offers a comprehensive benefits package including fully paid employee medical coverage, life insurance, long-term disability, robust 401(k) plan, PTO, parental leave, and more.
