FMI is seeking an experienced Investment Banking Vice President, Building Products to lead multidisciplinary deal teams, manage day to day transaction execution, and engage directly with clients throughout the transaction lifecycle. This role will take significant ownership of transaction execution while developing sector expertise and supporting business development initiatives alongside senior bankers.
The Vice President will also play an important leadership role within the team, managing, mentoring, and developing Analysts and Associates across engagements and helping ensure the quality and successful execution of client deliverables.
This is a full-time, hybrid opportunity that can be based in either our Denver, Colorado, or Raleigh, North Carolina office.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the execution of M&A transactions, with significant ownership of financial models, diligence coordination, transaction processes, and client deliverables.
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients throughout the transaction lifecycle and build strong, trusted client relationships.
- Manage, mentor, and develop Analysts and Associates across transactions, providing coaching, guidance, and feedback while ensuring the quality of team deliverables.
- Support Managing Directors and Directors with business development initiatives, including prospect research, pitch development, preparation of marketing materials, and participation in prospective client meetings.
- Work effectively with Managing Directors and Directors across multiple transactions and industry sectors.
- Develop sector expertise and market presence through ongoing industry engagement and participation in relevant industry events.
- Contribute to FMI's thought leadership by developing industry insights and researching and writing articles for FMI and industry publications.
- Manage multiple engagements and priorities in a fast paced, collaborative environment while maintaining a high standard of client service.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
- 5+ years of relevant investment banking, private equity, or corporate development experience, including significant transaction leadership and negotiation exposure, or 3+ years of relevant experience following completion of an MBA with demonstrated career progression.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing junior team members.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and financial modeling skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast paced environment.
- Experience working effectively with senior bankers and multidisciplinary transaction teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, listening, problem solving, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated professionalism and confidence in direct client engagements.
- Proficiency with DealCloud, PitchBook, S&P Capital IQ, and Microsoft Office.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $180,000-$200,000. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus based on individual and company performance.
