Investment Associate / Senior Investment Associate

Position Overview

The Investment Associate or Senior Investment Associate will join the four-person team responsible for overseeing Exeter's $1.8 billion endowment. The endowment supports more than 50 percent of the Academy's operating budget and helps make need-blind admission possible.

This generalist role offers broad exposure across asset classes and participation throughout the investment decision-making process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the team on new investment research and diligence.
    • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to analyze the market opportunity, strategy, and track record of a prospective investment manager.
    • Evaluate the manager's investment process, key employees, and organization.
    • Complete diligence calls and meetings.
    • Draft investment memos.
  • Portfolio monitoring and reporting
    • Track and analyze performance, key return drivers, and exposures at the manager and portfolio level.
    • Monitor and help to periodically re-underwrite existing managers.
    • Draft written recommendations for additions or redemptions from existing managers.
    • Periodically produce written portfolio updates for the Investment Committee.
    • Maintain manager pipeline, market maps, and capital planning reports.
  • Support periodic asset allocation reviews.
  • Prepare materials for, and participate in, investment committee meetings.
  • Travel for investment manager meetings and conferences.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or CFA is a plus.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
