Job Description:

We are currently seeking a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented Investment Allocation Associate to use their quantitative skills in supporting the Investment team.  The investment team is responsible for managing all the investment assets of the American Red Cross. This is a hybrid work location.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

The Associate of Allocation Services is responsible for supporting the analysis and documentation across all steps of the investment process, including the framework, all investment analyses, portfolio construction, implementation, and monitoring. The role entails creativity and mathematical acumen to use, maintain, and evolve the internally developed investment process. This role will be part of the portfolio management function and, as such, will entail future evolution within the portfolio team.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD:

Support the investment framework. This function involves adapting the framework to new ideas and/or changing concepts. This requires tracking academic or technological advances in portfolio management and analysis tools. Improving IT and manual processes is specifically a result of this function. Function implies support for any investment framework documentation.

Support investment analysis. This function means tracking and analyzing macro-economic conditions across the world. It also involves tracking any valuations of investment exposures across all asset classes. This analysis (of macro and valuations) will be cross-analyzed with investment ideas or concepts developed by banks or managers. Function implies understanding and documenting any valuation or economic scenario analysis.

Support portfolio construction. Portfolio construction has 3 levels: individual strategies, sub-portfolios, and the overall portfolio. It involves design and risk analysis across the 3 levels. Various versions or models are created to be tested under specific conditions, and a final selection is made of the one to implement. Function involves tracking and documenting the strategies and models forecasted under various scenarios.

Support portfolio Implementation. This function implies translating model results into a set of specific transactions to be implemented. Support involves designing a transition plan and a set of specific trade orders for 3rd party execution. In addition, the analyst will support the creation of trades, which will be confirmed by team members with trade approval.

Support Portfolio Monitoring. Function includes designing and tracking performance drivers for strategies, sub-portfolios, and overall portfolios. It also implies comparing results to expectations and searching for improvements to forecasts moving forward. Improvement can come from improving attribution analysis or rethinking portfolio construction. The analyst will help analyze and document any tracking analysis.
