Full Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Inventory Partnerships Senior Manager will serve as a strategic partner to Viant's publisher relationships, driving new business development, negotiating commercial terms, and helping partners maximize the value of their inventory while delivering high-quality, scalable supply for Viant's advertising platform. You will combine deep programmatic expertise with strong relationship management and negotiation skills to source new publisher partnerships, structure and close deals, identify growth opportunities, and drive successful partnerships across the open internet, with a strong focus on CTV.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the complexities of the programmatic supply ecosystem, is comfortable leading commercial negotiations, and can translate technical and business needs into actionable deal structures. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to strengthen integrations, improve supply quality, and support Viant's continued growth in CTV and AI-powered programmatic advertising.

THE DAY-TO-DAY
  • Identify, prioritize, and pursue new publisher partnership opportunities, building a pipeline of prospective supply partners aligned with Viant's CTV and omnichannel strategy.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with publisher partners, including deal terms, pricing structures, data/identity provisions, exclusivity, and SLAs, balancing partner needs with Viant's business objectives.
  • Own and grow strategic relationships with publisher partners, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact from initial deal discussions through long-term account management.
  • Structure and negotiate programmatic deal mechanics (PMPs, preferred deals, programmatic guaranteed, etc.) that maximize monetization for both partners and Viant.
  • Manage publisher onboarding, coordinating launch readiness and ongoing optimization with cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor inventory performance, supply quality, scale, and monetization to identify renegotiation opportunities and areas for deal expansion.
  • Partner with publishers to expand high-value CTV and omnichannel inventory, negotiating expanded terms and strengthening Viant's differentiated supply offering.
  • Identify opportunities to improve publisher performance and overall partnership value through data-driven recommendations and contract adjustments.
  • Represent publisher needs internally, translating partner feedback and ecosystem developments into actionable product, commercial, and operational insights.
  • Lead regular partner business reviews, communicating performance trends, opportunities, product updates, contract renewals, and strategic recommendations.
  • Stay current on programmatic supply trends, including CTV, identity, auctions, deal mechanics, supply-path optimization, and emerging publisher technologies, to inform negotiation strategy.

GREAT TO HAVE
  • 5+ years of experience in publisher services, supply partnerships, business development, deal negotiation, account management, programmatic advertising, or a related ad tech role.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and closing commercial agreements with publishers or media partners, including deal terms, pricing, and contract structures.
  • Strong understanding of the programmatic ecosystem, including publishers, SSPs, DSPs, ad exchanges, PMPs, and real-time bidding.
  • Experience working with CTV and premium publishers, inventory integrations, and programmatic deal structures.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to build business cases and data-driven arguments that support negotiations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills with experience managing and closing deals with strategic external partners.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across Product, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to structure win-win deals.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple complex partnerships, deal cycles, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
