The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a staff specialist and lead technical consultant for item management processes applicable to the support of customer programs, as well as related logistical and financial procedures.
Duty #1 - Serves as project lead/manager, conducting organizational and process related studies and analysis of organizations, functions, and work processes to improve mission effectiveness, resource allocation and efficiency, functions, and work processes to improve mission effectiveness, and resource allocation.
Duty#2 - Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
Duy #3 - Participates in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments.
Duty #4 - Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Requirements:
- The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
Recruitment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sources.
2. Master knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.
3. Extensive knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition, supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
5. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in program resolution.
6. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
