The position leads strategic programs with origin cargo management providers, customs brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to improve service, transit time reliability, visibility, and cost performance. You will analyze import and supply chain performance, identify opportunities to improve inventory flow, speed-to-shelf, and service, and help implement scalable solutions. Success is measured through data-driven decision making, continuous process improvement, and delivery of key operational and financial KPIs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the end-to-end Purchase Order (PO) lifecycle, identifying process gaps, eliminating defects, and standardizing best practices from purchase order creation through final delivery.
  • Design and implement scalable origin cargo management processes to improve booking execution, vendor compliance, and shipment visibility across the global import network.
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships with Origin Cargo Management (OCM) providers, customs brokers, ocean carriers, and other logistics partners to improve service, cost, and operational performance.
  • Build and maintain process workflow maps for the import supply chain, identifying bottlenecks, handoff failures, and automation opportunities to improve end-to-end execution.
  • Establish defect measurement and root cause management programs to improve booking accuracy, documentation quality, EDI compliance, and operational execution.
  • Drive initiatives to improve transit time accuracy and predictability by analyzing carrier performance, routing strategies, and network variability.
  • Lead programs to improve container load quality, cargo optimization, container compliance to reduce damages, maximize cube utilization, and lower transportation costs.
  • Develop data-driven KPI dashboards and performance scorecards to measure service, cost, quality, and compliance across the international logistics network.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, using insights to drive strategic decisions and continuous network optimization.
  • Establish governance and performance management processes for key logistics partners, including regular business reviews, service scorecards, and corrective action plans.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Inventory Planning, Transportation, Customs Compliance, Distribution Centers, and Technology teams to improve end-to-end supply chain performance.
  • Drive forecast alignment and capacity planning initiatives to improve booking acceptance, reduce spot market exposure, and optimize carrier allocation utilization.
  • Lead strategic projects that improve supply chain resiliency, increase shipment visibility, reduce cycle times, and enhance customer service.
  • Develop and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs), operational controls, and process documentation to improve consistency and scalability.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause methodologies to eliminate waste and improve operational efficiency.

What you Need to Succeed

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate operational challenges into business impacts.
  • Understanding of transportation visibility platforms, EDI/API integrations, reporting tools, and transportation technologies.
  • Strong understanding of international transportation, including ocean freight, drayage, air freight, cross-border transportation, and origin/customs brokerage operations.
  • Knowledge of import processes, transportation provider management, and end-to-end supply chain execution.
  • Ability to identify opportunities that improve inventory flow, In-Stock performance, Speed-to-Shelf, and Service execution.
  • Ability to evaluate complex transportation and import challenges and develop scalable solutions.
  • Comfortable leading initiatives without direct authority.
