Job Summary In coordination with the Interventional Radiology Manager, the Interventional Radiology Supervisor plans, directs, organizes, and supervises the operational activities of the Ann Arbor and Troy Medical Center campuses.
The Interventional Radiology Supervisor is responsible for IR Quality Assurance Technologist, IR Technologist Educator, IR Technologists, C&W IR Patient Care Technician, and Student Radiographer Temp Technologists. The Interventional Radiology Supervisor regularly collaborates with physicians, nurses, administrative leadership, and other staff, both inside and outside the Radiology department.
Responsibilities*Collaborate with the Interventional Radiology Manager in overall operation of the unit, work together to enhance patient, customer, and employee satisfaction.
Act as back-up to the Interventional Radiology Manager.
Serve as a liaison between technical staff, faculty, nursing, and clerical staff and facilitate their collaboration to assist in the overall patient flow for the department
Approve payroll and monitor attendance records, including overtime and unscheduled time.
Coordinate staffing levels and scheduling across all areas of responsibility for technical staff.
Monitor, document, and resolve operational issues as they affect the site.
Authority to perform annual evaluations, hire or fire employees, and complete all necessary documentation.
Administer disciplinary and/or corrective action in accordance with Michigan Medicine and Radiology policies.

Assist with resolution of image quality and billing issues and be responsible for process improvement implementation to include Joint Commission readiness.
Update, create, or maintain job knowledge documentation for technical staff.

Perform and support additional duties as directed by the Interventional Radiology Manager.
Required Qualifications* Associate degree in a related health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
Graduation from an AMA-approved radiologic technology program or related field.
Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with certification in Radiography, RT(R).
5+ years of progressive radiology experience.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Must be able to problem-solve using good judgment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to positively represent the department to internal and external customers.
Effectively prioritize workload to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Technical expertise in radiography/fluoroscopy procedures.
Desired Qualifications*Bachelor's degree or higher.
ARRT Post Primary certification in Vascular Interventional (VI) and/or Computed Tomography (CT).
1+ year of leadership experience.
Experience with Epic/MiChart and Sectra PACS.
Knowledge and experience with Michigan Medicine policies and procedures.
Knowledge and experience with UMMAP and SEIU contracts.
Proven on the job leadership skills demonstrated ability to problem-solve, address staffing needs, and meet operational needs.
