Full Job Description
About the Position: We are hiring an Internal Strategy Consultant to support our firm's newly established Strategic Decision Committee. This role is a high-visibility, high-impact internal function designed to drive firm-wide strategic decisions at the most senior levels of the organization. This is not a traditional internal role. It is built for someone who thinks and operates like a top-tier consultant, thrives in ambiguity, and is energized by the opportunity to shape how a growing organization makes its most critical choices.

Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Internal Strategy Consultant will serve as a trusted analytical and strategic partner who will be synthesizing complex information, building rigorous financial models, and producing executive-ready materials that drive clarity and action. The ideal candidate brings enough experience to work independently and influence senior stakeholders, while remaining hands-on and deeply execution-oriented.

Please Note: While we love connecting with curious candidates, we want to be transparent that informal conversations with our team do not factor into hiring decisions. The best way to move forward is to apply directly as we review every application carefully.

Specifically, this individual will be responsible for the following:

Strategic Analysis & Decision Support
  • Align with leadership to continuously evolve and refine the program, aligning insights and ensuring each opportunity is captured with required fields (rationale, proforma, risk considerations, decision owner, approval path, timelines)
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to support firm-wide initiatives, investment decisions, and operational priorities
  • Translate ambiguous problems into clear frameworks, actionable recommendations, and compelling narratives
  • Leverage data and programming tools to surface insights that inform strategic direction and organizational priorities

Financial Modeling & Analytics
  • Build, maintain, and stress-test sophisticated financial models to support scenario planning, business cases, and investment analysis
  • Synthesize large data sets into executive-level insights with precision and speed
  • Develop and own analytical tools in Excel that improve the quality and efficiency of strategic decision-making
  • Use SQL, Python, R, or similar tools to query, clean, and analyze data across internal systems and platforms

Data Visualization & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain interactive and intuitive reports and dashboards (Excel, Power BI, etc.) that will track strategic initiatives, highlight performance against targets and identify trends, exceptions, and opportunities for follow-up by the committee
  • Present data visually in ways that are intuitive, accurate, and appropriate for executive audiences

Executive Presentations & Communications
  • Design and deliver polished, high-impact presentations for the Strategic Decision Committee and senior leadership
  • Distill complex analysis into clear, concise storylines tailored to executive audiences
  • Prepare briefing materials, memos, and supporting documentation for key decisions and initiatives

Project & Stakeholder Management
  • Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-moving, evolving environment
  • Navigate competing priorities with composure, maintaining quality and meeting deadlines without sacrificing rigor
  • Build trusted relationships across functions, including finance, operations, technology, and sales, to gather inputs and drive alignment

Requirements

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of experience in management consulting at an MBB or top-tier strategy firm, or in a high-caliber internal strategy function
  • Advanced Excel proficiency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, dynamic dashboards, and data structuring
  • Proficiency in PowerBI or comparable data visualization platforms (Tableau, Looker)
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation
  • Familiarity with Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis and process automation
  • Exceptional presentation skills with demonstrated ability to build executive-ready materials from scratch
  • Strong financial acumen and comfort working with P&Ls, forecasts, and business case frameworks
  • Proven ability to operate independently and drive work forward without heavy direction
  • High emotional intelligence with ability to build trust, read a room, manage up, and influence without authority
  • Comfort with rapid change, shifting priorities, and evolving scopes of work
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidates must be eligible to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred
  • MBA or advanced degree from a top-tier institution
