OverviewWho we're looking forToyota's Internal Logistics Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated
Internal Logistics Engineer.The primary responsibility of this role is to support cross-functional teams at
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas (TMMTX) and
Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) Production Engineering (PE) in implementing internal logistics improvements related to space utilization and material flow.
Reporting to the Manager of PC Projects, this role will support the Internal Logistics Department Hoshin objectives. This position is based in San Antonio, TX. The selected candidate is expected to reside within a commutable distance of this location.
What you'll be doing- Support the design and implementation of internal logistics equipment and automated material handling solutions for new model and mass production activities
- Partner with cross-functional teams at TMMTX and TMNA PE to implement logistics-related change points
- Develop decision matrices and support project cost planning and budgeting
- Create and obtain approval for Ringi projects, including assembly lines and parts delivery systems
- Utilize Toyota Production System (TPS) tools to develop standardized work and support built-in quality
- Identify opportunities to simplify equipment designs and lead continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities
What you bring- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Inventor. (1 year)
- Experience with internal logistics equipment and process design. (1 year)
- Experience managing engineering projects and project budgets. (1 year)
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) logic, controls, and programming. (1 year)
- Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and supply chain operations. (1 year)
- This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that meets company standards is required
Added bonus if you have- Bachelors degree in engineering or 4+ years of experience
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of internal and external logistics and end-to-end supply chain processes
