Company LogoResponsibilities- Immigration Law:
- Independently manage all corporate immigration matters, including H-1B, L-1, PERM, and other employment-based visas.
- Liaise with government agencies, such as USCIS, DOL, and DOS, on immigration matters.
- Prepare and review immigration-related documents, including petitions, applications, and supporting documentation.
- Advise HR and management on visa sponsorship, employment authorization, and I-9 compliance.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and international immigration laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting related to immigration compliance.
- Process USCIS filings, USCIS document processing, and PERM job postings, assist with daily admin questions, and review work product to ensure legal accuracy and quality.
Employment & Labor Law Assistance:
- Assist in providing legal counsel on employment matters, including wage and hour laws, discrimination, harassment, employee classification, and workplace safety.
- Support HR in drafting, reviewing, and updating employment policies, contracts, handbooks, and compliance-related documentation.
- Advise HR on terminations, layoffs, severance agreements, and employee relations issues to mitigate legal risks.
- Assist in handling employment-related disputes and claims before regulatory agencies such as the EEOC, DOL, and OSHA.
- Monitor changes in employment and labor laws and provide proactive guidance to ensure company compliance.
Qualifications- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in any state within the US, with preference for multi-jurisdictional licensing.
- 5+ years of experience in immigration law, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
- 3+ years of experience in employment law, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong understanding of employment-based immigration processes and compliance requirements.
- Experience handling employment litigation and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with HR, operations, and executive leadership.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the geotechnical, construction, or engineering industry.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and labor union laws.
- Previous in-house counsel experience.
Additional InformationSalary Range: $113,500-137,500
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant internal and external experience, knowledge, skills, scope of job, geographical location or other factors permitted by law
