Full Job Description
About the Role:

Motive is looking for an Internal Communications Director to lead how we inform, align, and inspire employees across the company. This role owns Motive's internal narrative and communications cadence, translating company strategy and priorities into clear, compelling messaging that employees understand and remember. You'll lead our flagship internal moments - including All Hands - build out modern, multi-channel and video-first storytelling, and find new and engaging ways to connect employees to the company's mission, culture, and momentum. You'll also partner closely with executives to sharpen their voice and presence, and work alongside Corporate Communications issues, and other high-stakes moments to keep internal and external messaging aligned.

What You'll Do:
  • Own the strategy and execution of Motive's internal communications program, ensuring employees are informed, aligned, and engaged during company updates, organizational changes, and major announcements
  • Lead planning, narrative, and production for All Hands and other company-wide forums, from executive talking points through delivery
  • Build and grow Motive's internal video communications capability, producing executive updates, milestone recaps, and storytelling content that make company priorities land with employees
  • Continuously find new and engaging ways to reach employees, evolving our channel mix, formats, and cadence beyond one-off announcements
  • Own internal channels (Slack, email, and video) and ensure messaging is precisely targeted, well-timed, and consistent across audiences
  • Draft and refine executive communications, including CEO and leadership messages, talking points, and briefing materials for internal moments
  • Partner with Corporate Communications, Legal, and People teams to develop proactive and reactive communications plans for sensitive or high-stakes announcements
  • Ensure internal-first alignment so employees hear key news before or alongside external audiences, and that messaging stays consistent across internal and external channels
  • Develop feedback and listening mechanisms (surveys, pulse checks, forums) to measure employee sentiment and communications effectiveness, and use those insights to improve programs over time
  • Build relationships with executives, People, and cross-functional leaders to serve as a trusted advisor on internal messaging and change communications
What We're Looking For:
  • 10+ years of experience in internal, corporate, or executive communications, with a track record of leading internal communications at a high-growth company
  • Proven experience producing All Hands and other executive forums, from narrative development through live or recorded delivery
  • Hands-on experience building video communications and modern, multi-channel employee engagement programs
  • Strong executive presence, with experience advising and writing for C-suite leaders
  • Exceptional storytelling and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex or sensitive company priorities into clear, memorable messaging
  • Experience supporting crisis, issues, or change communications in partnership with Legal and Corporate Communications
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; advanced degree a plus
  • Comfort using AI-enabled tools to support messaging development and communications analysis, with sound judgment around appropriate use
  • This is a senior level individual contributor position
