Position Summary:

As an Internal Communications Director at Conair, you will be responsible for designing, managing and authoring strategic internal communication programs across the organization. You'll be a true partner to the executive team and work with internal stakeholders to help our employees across the organization connect with Conair's business strategy, culture, and values.

We're looking for someone with great experience developing, leading, and carrying out strategic internal communications. To succeed, you'll need to be curious, creative, and highly collaborative. You'll also need to be a highly organized self-starter, able to complete projects on-time and independently.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a strategic internal communications plan: Align internal and executive messaging with the company's vision, mission, business strategy and branding; and deliver an annual plan to bring it to life.
  • Partner closely with the CEO and Executive team: Develop and execute communications that translate executive vision into clear, actionable messaging across all levels of the organization.
  • Enable successful change: Support change management communications that bring synergy and cohesiveness to the organization.
  • Work cross-functionally across teams: Work in close partnership with Human Resources, Marketing and Leadership to execute communication initiatives from concept to delivery.
  • Produce employee communications: Develop and author a variety of internal communications including newsletters, presentations, announcements, town halls, etc to be delivered across a variety of communications channels.
  • Manage the company's internal communications channels: Create a communication cadence, calendar, write stories, briefs and manage the Conair Intranet.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in corporate communications and/or public relations including experience in culture transformation and change management.
  • Experience leading employer brand and/or social media advocacy initiatives is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including stellar editorial proficiency (writing, editing, proofing)
  • Ability to build relationships within an organization, communicate regularly with key individuals and interface with all levels of staff, including senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated understanding of communications as a change enabler; experience in change management initiatives a plus "hands-on" team player with outstanding project management and strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Possess a strong executive presence, good judgment and ability to handle confidential/sensitive information. Ability to proactively embrace and drive positive, transformational change and build this capability into the greater organization.
  • Intellectually curious and passionate about people, culture and the employee experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft SharePoint
  • Graphic design experience preferred
  • Must be a highly organized self-starter, able to complete projects on-time and independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment


Environmental Factors:
  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
  • This role requires Stamford, CT office on-site presence Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere on Fridays.
