Job DescriptionOverviewAtkinsRéalis is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Buildings Structural Engineering team in Toronto. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of structural engineering services across a broad range of projects, supporting design development, technical coordination, and project execution within multidisciplinary teams.
Your role- Perform structural analysis and design of steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber systems.
- Support structural design development through multiple project stages, from early studies to detailed design.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate and review structural drawings and models prepared using CAD and BIM tools.
- Work collaboratively with architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and geotechnical disciplines.
- Participate in technical reviews, coordination meetings, and internal quality assurance processes.
- Attend site visits and field observations as required to support design development, verification, and issue resolution.
- Review technical submissions and provide engineering input to address project specific challenges.
- Contribute to the coordination and technical delivery of assigned project components, collaborating with senior engineers and project managers as part of the project team.
- Collaborate with internal project teams across multiple locations, including coordination with Canadian or U.S. offices as needed.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and EITs, as appropriate.
About you- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Master's degree in Structural Engineering is an asset.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
- Experience in a consulting engineering or infrastructure focused environment preferred.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, or similar).
- Working knowledge of Ontario Building Code, NBC, and CSA standards.
- Familiarity with Revit and BIM based workflows is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively in both office and site environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to the local project sites on a periodic basis.

Additional informationExpected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $90,000 - $130,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
