Our team in Canada is growing! We are currently recruiting for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Minerals and Metals Business line in the Vancouver office.
About the Role - Support the Lead Structural Engineer in various phases of a project with a focus on early stage Studies
- Prepare specifications, design criteria, and material take-off for various phases of studies and projects as required.
- Perform analysis and design of steel, concrete, and masonry structures and concrete foundations for mining process plants or infrastructure projects.
- Perform site visits, inspections, and preparation of reports relating to existing and new structures
- Perform evaluation and analysis of existing structures for modifications and additions, and propose reinforcement solutions
- Prepare structural engineering designs for conceptual design through to detailed design, tender and construction in accordance with Canadian Codes and Standards
- Complete tasks under minimal supervision ensuring that objectives of cost, quality and time are met
- Work directly with drafting staff in order to coordinate and review 3D modelling and design of the structures, as well as produce detailed drawing packages
About You - Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized University.
- 5-9 years' experience in a structural design environment preferably with experience in mining and process plant design projects.
- Proficient in structural engineering analysis and design with SAP2000 is a must; proficiency in other software such as, SFRAME, SAFE, and ETABS would be an asset.
- Thorough understanding of the design of structural steel, concrete, masonry, and timber
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in BC. Registration within another Province or internationally (PE) would be considered an asset
- Proficient in application of Canadian Codes and Standards
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both written and verbal English

Salary range: $105,000-$125,000 Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
