Full Job Description
DESE Research, Inc. is seeking a highly capable and efficient Intermediate Security Specialist to support DSS Security Operations at the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This position will be on-site at MDA and will serve to implement the MDA DSS-O program. The purpose of the MDA DSS Security Operations is to foster MDA security operating environment supported by infrastructure protection requirements, security standards, processes and procedures, and focused program oversight. The program is designed to protect MDA personnel, facilities, and resources and safeguard Missile Defense System (MDS) information from loss, compromise, or unauthorized disclosure.

Required Qualifications:
• Secret Security Clearance
• Certified in relevant Security field with BS or BA degree preferred
• 8+ years of relevant experience
• Ability to work independently or concurrently in leading/supporting teams to directly solve complex problems
• Excellent competency with the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Power BI, Microsoft Lists, and other Teams related apps
• Must have a basic or intermediate working knowledge of using, facilitating and/or appropriating AI tools similar to ChatGPT, genAI.mil, Microsoft Copilot, or other platforms for document modernization, optimization or creation
• Working knowledge of OSA ( Open Storage Area ) requirements and regulations

Responsibilities:

Electronic Security System Functions:
• Provide quality oversight and technical expertise for the design, procurement, and installation of Electronic Security Systems (ESS) for MDA
• Provide cradle-to-grave ESS technical services for MDA elements requiring Access Control, Intrusion Detection, or Closed-Circuit Television system services
• Maintain the MDA ESS security components in accordance with applicable DoD, MDA, and manufacture specifications
• Conduct Maintenance Action Review reviews for various MDA locations at the instruction of Government Lead and provide notes of any discrepancies
• Perform Performance Verification Testing and Assessments (PVT&A) and complete corresponding paperwork for Government Lead review and acceptance
• Conduct site surveys and share results with appropriate personnel
• Collect and validate required PII and training certificates from support staff
• Validate ESS trouble tickets and distribute details to appropriate MDA external ESS contractors. Facilitate actionable items for ESS issues when appropriate
• Perform various OnGuard administrative tasks at the request of Government Lead e.g. Database clean-up, ESS device report to troubleshoot deficiencies, ESS device configuration, and personnel reports
