Intermediate Project Controls - Burlington, ON - Join a Team That Puts People First

Job Summary
As an Intermediate Project Controls professional, you will support the successful planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects by providing project controls expertise across cost management, scheduling, forecasting, progress measurement, and reporting. Working closely with project managers, engineering teams, and clients, you will help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining compliance with company processes and project requirements. You will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of project controls practices that support effective project performance across the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules in collaboration with project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor project progress against established schedules and identify potential risks, delays, and schedule impacts.
  • Support schedule development for all phases of project execution, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Participate in schedule reviews and recommend corrective actions to improve project performance.
Cost Control & Forecasting
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and earned value assessments to support informed project decision-making.
  • Analyze cost variances and trends, providing recommendations to mitigate potential budget impacts.
  • Support change management processes by evaluating the cost and schedule implications of project changes.
Reporting & Performance Analysis
  • Prepare regular project controls reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators for internal and client reporting.
  • Track project progress and performance against scope, schedule, cost, and resource objectives.
  • Identify project risks, trends, and opportunities through data analysis and performance metrics.
  • Support project reviews by providing accurate and timely project controls information.
Project Coordination & Stakeholder Support
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, procurement, construction personnel, and clients to support project execution.
  • Participate in project planning meetings, risk reviews, and progress meetings.
  • Ensure project controls documentation is maintained in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.
  • Assist with project setup, baseline development, and close-out activities.

  • Perform project controls activities in accordance with company standards, quality management systems, and project procedures.
  • Promote consistency in project controls processes, reporting, and documentation across projects.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance project controls tools, processes, and reporting practices.
