Full Job Description
The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding an Intermediate Piping Designer to our Piping Designteam based in Vancouver, BC.

Your Role:
  • Prepare 3D models and produce 2D drawings from reference information including 3D models, sketches, notes, vendor drawings, or general direction from design lead.
  • Prepare complete and accurate design and drawings that adhere to Tetra Tech and client standards as well as applicable codes.
  • Checking of 2D drawings and 3D models for clashes and constructability.
  • Review specifications, codes, and vendor documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and organized drawing files within existing file structures.
  • Perform specific tasks assigned by design lead in a pre-defined timeframe.
  • Ability to schedule the work to completion that both satisfies project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Keep piping lead informed of project status and challenges.
  • Coordinate with all disciplines as required.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.


Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Certificate in Drafting or Engineering Design/Technology or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of design experience required.
  • Ability to understand and interpret P&ID's.
  • Understanding of construction, operation, and maintenance requirements.
  • Proficiency in using 3D modeling platforms.
  • MicroStation experience is an asset.
  • Proficient in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • PDS, PDMS, AVEVA, CADWorx Plant & P&ID, SP3D, SmartPlant P&ID, AutoPlant and Inventor considered an asset.
  • Familiar with 3D Cloud points and as-built 3D modeling tools such as Autodesk Recap or CADWorx FieldPipe.
  • Proficient in MS Office particularly in Word, Excel, Office.
  • Ability to effectively plan time commitments on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Adaptable to changing schedules and work situation.
  • Client service oriented.
  • Quick, on the job learner, efficient.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.


The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 per year. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
