Full Job Description
We're looking for an Intermediate Electrical Designer with strong communication skills and a client-focused approach to join our Commercial (Tenant) team. In this role, you'll take an active role in the design and delivery of commercial tenant improvement and renovation projects, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced consulting environment.
You'll be responsible for developing electrical designs and documentation, coordinating with other disciplines, addressing project issues, and helping carry designs through to construction completion. You'll also have regular opportunities to work directly with clients and project stakeholders, helping understand their needs, resolve technical issues, and deliver practical solutions that meet project requirements.
As an Intermediate Designer, you'll take increasing ownership of your assigned project work, manage your deliverables and deadlines, and provide support and guidance to more junior designers where appropriate. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, designers, and project leaders while continuing to develop your technical, communication, and consulting skills.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working directly with clients, solving practical design challenges, and seeing projects through from concept to construction. We're looking for someone who is collaborative, detail-oriented, technically capable, and motivated to build strong relationships while delivering high-quality electrical design solutions for commercial spaces.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
3 Established and productive individual contributor.
3 Independently creates concept designs, design specifications; assesses constructability and does so on a regular basis
3 Creates documentation and drawings from conceptual ideas.
3 Effectively applies tools and methodologies used for product and service delivery (e.g., AutoCAD, HHA Drawing Standards, Plotters, etc.).
3 Ensures technical accuracy of project deliverables.
3 Accountable for all designs through to construction completion.
3 Manages and prioritizes own project activities in order to meet project deadlines for all assigned tasks.
3 Starts to peer review work of more junior designers for conventional projects.
3 Develops and maintains good working relationships with clients on assigned projects.
3 Liaises with clients to determine design requirements and resolve issues.
3 Ensures timesheets, logs and files are accurate and up to date.
3 Works independently with general supervision in solving difficult problems.
3 Other duties as required.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
3 Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related electrical/electromechanical technology program.
3 4+ years of relevant electrical consulting or building systems design experience.
3 Demonstrated experience designing and documenting electrical systems for building projects.
3 Experience working on projects within the commercial, healthcare, institutional, or other buildings sectors is considered an asset.
3 Strong working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
3 Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
3 Experience coordinating electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other disciplines.
3 Strong technical, problem-solving, attention to detail, and documentation skills.
3 Ability to manage multiple project priorities, deliverables, and deadlines effectively.
3 Ability to work independently with general supervision while also contributing effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
3 Ability to review drawings and deliverables for technical accuracy and constructability.
3 Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with project team members, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

TOTAL REWARDS
The expected salary for this role is between $75,000 and $95,000 annually. Base salaries are determined considering several factors such as skills and competencies, experience, education, and internal and external competitiveness.
