Full Job Description
POSITION DETAILS

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Development: Work with senior designers and project managers to create conceptual and detailed design solutions for architectural elements, including but not limited to facades, custom installations, furniture, and building components.
  • 3D Modeling & Drafting: Develop accurate and detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and renderings using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, SolidWorks, SketchUp, etc.) to communicate design intent and fabrication details.
  • Technical Coordination: Collaborate closely with engineers and fabricators to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet project specifications. Provide design support throughout the fabrication process to address any technical challenges.
  • Client Interaction: Assist in presenting design concepts and progress to clients, gathering feedback, and making necessary design adjustments. Maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
  • Material & Fabrication Research: Stay current with materials and fabrication techniques. Investigate new technologies and solutions that could enhance the design and functionality of architectural elements.
  • Project Management Support: Assist in managing project timelines, deliverables, ensuring designs are completed within the set timeframes and meet quality standards.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with other designers, engineers, and fabricators to resolve design challenges and ensure a smooth transition from design to fabrication.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in architectural design or fabrication, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work in fabrication or custom-built elements.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) Experience with 3D modeling, rendering, and BIM.
  • Knowledge of architectural and fabrication standards, materials, and construction techniques.
  • Strong creative skills, with the ability to generate innovative solutions to complex design challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present ideas clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially in translating design concepts into practical, workable solutions.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn and grow.


Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with fabrication processes (CNC, laser cutting, 3D printing, etc.). Experience in producing fabrication drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations related to architectural design and fabrication.


COMPENSATION

  • The annual compensation range for this position is $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 commiserate upon experience.


VACANCY STATUS AND LOCATION

This vacancy is a new position at Maxxit System Inc. This role will require 4 days per week on site at the Toronto Office and One day work from home.
