Full Job Description
Intermediate Designer with at least 4 years' experience to work closely with Junior Designers, Senior Designers, Project Managers, and Studio Directors to provide development, production support and co-ordination throughout the project delivery process as a member of the Design Team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Communication & Coordination:
  • Coordinates and communicates effectively and appropriately with project stakeholders including other project team members, clients, vendors, building management, consultants, contractors and sub-contractors to convey project information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinates and communicates with Decorating/FF&E team on shared coordination such as material and finish specifications, decorative lighting location and specifications, cabinet hardware location and specifications.
Project Drawings, Documentation & Deliverables
  • Prepares, develops and produces concept images and mood boards.
  • Prepares, develops and produces project drawings including surveys, conceptual drawings/sketches, floor plans, furniture plans, elevations, electrical plans, reflected ceiling plans, lighting plans, framing plans, sections, millwork drawings and detail drawings.
  • Prepares, develops and produces 3D models and renderings.
  • Prepares, develops and produces project documentation including material schedules, finish schedules, fixture schedules, hardware schedules and appliance & equipment schedules.
  • Assists in the production of qualified contractors list.
  • Reviews and comments on bid documents in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Assists in value engineering to achieve construction budget goals.
  • Reviews and comments on consultant drawings, shop drawings and finish samples.
  • Responds to RFIs.
  • Inspects, observes and documents services provided by contractors and sub-contractors for design intent.
  • Visit Site during construction to document progress and assist Senior Designer in ensuring design intent is executed.
  • Produces final design punch list as required.
Meetings & Presentations:
  • Attends, participates and contributes in meetings with clients, internal project team, contractors, sub-contractors and vendors by preparing agendas, taking meeting notes and preparing meeting minutes.
  • Produces client presentations in conjunction with other project team members, including Decorating team.
  • Organizes finish and material palettes and coordinates with vendors to procure and return samples.
Sourcing, Selection & Specification:
  • Sources, selects and specifies project materials, finishes, fixtures, hardware, appliances and equipment as required for the project in accordance with the project budget and schedule.
  • Obtains, maintains and files finish samples as required.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possesses a high taste level and has knowledge of high-end luxury interior design. Follows and speaks to current industry trends on space, function, materials, and finishes.
  • Possesses good time management skills and is able to handle multiple project deadlines and make decisions in a fast-paced environment to take a project from design concept all the way through construction and punch list.
  • Experience executing Design Development and Construction Documents Drawing Sets and Documents/Specifications.
  • Experience visiting construction sites, interfacing with contractors and consultants, documenting construction progress, and reviewing submittals and shop drawings with supervision from Senior Designers.
  • Highly presentable, intelligent, confident and discreet with an outgoing, upbeat and confident demeanor.
  • Goal and detail-oriented with exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Proficient in the use AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Possess functional knowledge of interior design principles/practices.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture.
  • At least 4 years of demonstrated work experience with Interior Design and/or Architectural Firms.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 (depending on experience) + Performance-Based Bonus
