Responsibilities

  • Support Technical Chief Quality Meetings and Design Reviews
  • Develop road maps for Forward Model program targets

  • Act as the Program Quality liaison for functional delivery
  • Ensure customer needs are met through satisfaction metrics
  • Conduct research to anticipate future technology and market trends
  • Facilitate random audits to evaluate deliverable completion
  • Drive team efforts to create robust test plans
  • Enhance test methods for improved results
  • Assist in problem-solving for developmental failures and launch issues
  • Provide training in problem-solving methodologies
  • Lead weekly Staff Meetings
  • Travel up to 10% within North America

In this position ...

  • Work cross-functionally and closely with integrated teams in Manufacturing, Product Development, Purchasing, Marketing, Sales and Service.


Responsibilities

What you'll do...
• Support all Technical Chief Quality Meetings, SARs, and Design Reviews
• Develop road maps to support the Forward Model program targets
• Work with PTIM, Forward Model FMA Team, and functional on FMA plan
• Partner with Program Quality as the voice of function and functional delivery
• Team with Studio to ensure Customer needs are met; Customer Satisfaction utilizing QNPS & JDP IQS
• Develop Deep Dives / Projects, foresee future technology / market trends based on benchmarking and social media / web forums research to ensure designs will satisfy future customer needs.
• Leverage problem-solving capabilities using MPI, TVM, Aims, Future of CTQs
• Conduct random audits throughout the PD GPDS process to assess deliverable completion, identify organizational opportunities and work with PD to implement PRAs (learning organization)
• Drive the team to develop robust test plans using the DFMEA, P-Diagrams, and Boundary Diagrams.
• Drive improvements and robustness into test methods
• Stay up to date with industry changes, trend and technologies
• Assist in problem-solving efforts, as requested, for any developmental failures and/or launch issues
• Provide and/or support problem solving, and data analysis training (methodology/tools) as required
• Facilitate weekly Staff Meetings
• Travel up to 10% within North America

Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Automotive body design & release experience
  • Knowledge of interior components (e.g., seats, restraint systems)


Even better, you may have...

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or computer science engineering
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
  • A passion for improving product quality
  • An in-depth knowledge of quality on control principles, methods, and tools
  • Familiarity with Ford Quality Systems: FMA, G8D, DMAIC, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft tools
  • A history of communicating and presenting Quality data in an informative and persuasive approach
  • GPDS knowledge is a plus
