Description

We are seeking an Interim Senior Engineer, Facility & Mechanical Integrity to support the Integrity and Process Safety Management team. Based in Calgary and reporting to the Senior Manager, Facility Integrity, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of facilities assets, while supporting corporate objectives related to operational excellence and cost management.

This role will collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and external stakeholders to drive integrity programs, manage risk, and maintain regulatory compliance.

Interim position for a 14-month term

Key Activities and Responsibilities
• Provide expertise in facility integrity, regulatory compliance, and engineering assessments
• Lead Fitness-for-Service (FFS) assessments, failure investigations, and damage mechanism evaluations
• Determine corrosion rates, inspection intervals, and minimum thickness requirements
• Review inspection reports and drive corrective actions
• Develop and approve repair strategies, including engineered and specialty repairs
• Support Management of Change (MOC) processes and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage integrity programs and third-party service providers
• Oversee budgets, forecasts, and AFE submissions
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready integrity records
• Forecast equipment life and communicate risk to stakeholders
• Ensure effective Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) program governance
• Align programs with regulatory and industry best practices
• Support planned shutdowns and inspection campaigns
• Develop and maintain inspection test plans using RBI and time-based methodologies
• Ensure data integrity within systems such as PCMS
• Review and update RBI assessments following inspections or changes
• Champion strong EH&S performance and compliance culture
• Ensure work aligns with all regulatory requirements and internal standards

Education, Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Mechanical, Welding, or Metallurgy Engineering
• Minimum 10 years' experience in integrity, corrosion, or related engineering disciplines
• P.Eng (APEGA) designation or eligibility
• API 580 Risk-Based Inspection Certification
• ABSA In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector certification (or eligibility)
• Strong knowledge of Alberta regulations (ABSA, AER)
• Experience with integrity systems such as PCMS, Maximo, or SAP

Hours

Monday - Friday, 40 hour per week

Interim role, 14-month term

As this position is identified as security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of a criminal background check assessment with satisfactory results.
