Full Job Description
The University Registrar at Plymouth State University provides leadership in• planning, organizing and managing all of the activities related to the operations of the Office of the Registrar and ensures that the activities and practices in the areas of responsibility reflect best practices.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Supervision/Administration of Office of the Registrar
  • Directing the operations of the Registrar's Office, fostering a cooperative work environment and supervising seven professional and operating staff; managing and presenting information to a range of clientele; fostering a cooperative work environment; providing functional supervision for the registration process with Graduate Studies.
  • Overseeing budget for the department and performing periodic cost and productivity analyses.
  • Establishing and implementing short- and long-range department planning including goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness

Maintenance of on-line information systems
  • Recommending and implementing procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of student records.
  • Evaluating new technologies and recommending implementation as appropriate.
  • Maintaining and upgrading the University's academic information infrastructure including academic records archives, on-line student data, World Wide Web and other electronic databases and information systems for the Registrar's office
  • University Residency Officer - serving as the University's Residency Officer

Consult with Academic and Administrative Departments
  • Implementing faculty academic policies and reviewing policy exception requests; recommending and participating in the development and implementation of University policies and procedures regarding student orientation, registration, records, class schedules, and instructional space scheduling and graduation requirements.
  • Serving as a voting member on the University Curriculum committee and other PSU committees.

Maintain student academic history records
  • Maintaining student records (including application data, official transcripts, correspondence, etc.), keeping in mind the need for confidentiality and appropriate access while ensuring full compliance with federal, state and accreditation requirements.
  • Oversee the University's student confirmation process, the scheduling of courses, registration process.
  • Provide statistics & other data in various forms to intemal/extemal customers - managing compliance with FERPA regulations and the dissemination of information to students
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • University FERPA Officer
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in registration and student records or a closely related area in higher education OR Master's degree and 3+ years of experience
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • First-rate customer service experience
  • Strong computer skills and technological experience with student information systems (PSU currently uses the SunGard Banner system)
  • Knowledge of FERPA
  • In-depth working knowledge of the form and table structure of SunGard Banner
  • Experience in strategic planning and implementation of short and long-term goals
  • Policy development and implementation experienc
  • Innovative and resourceful about creating new programs and services
  • Experience in strategic planning and implementation of short and long-term goal
  • Experience using 25Live scheduling software
  • Experience with DegreeWorks
  • Experience with reporting solutions such as Crystal Reports, MS Access, and Excel
  • Ability to foster and work effectively as a team
  • Excellent ability to build strong working relationships throughout the university community
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Record of leading and facilitating change

Compensation Pay Range:
$72,980.00 - $130,670.00
