• Serves as Chief, Environmental Resources, responsible for leading a diverse team to complete a wide range of tasks to meet all regulatory requirements.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to produce Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements and Records of Environmental Consideration for water resource or other projects.
• Provide expert advice and consultation for the district on environmental compliance and stewardship and on ecosystem management.
• Identify and evaluate appropriate environmental commitments, terms and conditions, or mitigation requirements for major water resource or other projects, to meet requirements of all appropriate environmental laws and regulations.
• Apply governing public laws such as the Clean Water Act (CWA), Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), etc.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education/ experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting all of the following: 1) Leading and developing an organization's environmental program to include: the coordination, scoping, budgeting and/or scheduling; 2) identify potential issues and recommend solutions for resolving complicated environmental compliance issues; 3) conduct quality assurance reviews of environmental compliance products; and 4) provide leadership to a team of multi-disciplined professionals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
