Lead Electronics Engineer / Computer Scientist (Personnel Recovery C2)

Serve as an expert-level technical authority and Team Leader sustaining the critical Personnel Recovery Command and Control (PRC2) mission software. In this high-impact leadership role, you will guide a team of engineers and scientists while managing the software, databases, and Isolated Personnel Report (ISOPREP) applications that directly enable the planning and execution of life-saving personnel recovery missions worldwide.

- Direct Life-Saving Mission: Work on systems that have a direct, real-world impact on recovering isolated personnel and military members in distress.

- Inspire & Guide Talent: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of developmental and journeyman professionals, directly shaping the technical talent of the organization.

- High-Level Corporate Influence: Serve as a lead program manager and senior subject matter expert, researching and recommending strategic corporate policies and processes for the 517 SWES/MXDPD.

Key Responsibilities

- Technical Team Leadership: Perform official lead duties for three or more professional employees, orchestrating project assignments, coaching team members, and ensuring technical milestones are met.

- PRC2 Software Sustainment: Oversee the lifecycle, database management, and sustainment of the Personnel Recovery Command and Control mission software and associated application suites.

- ISOPREP Data Operations: Ensure the integrity, security, and availability of critical ISOPREP data used by commanders to plan and execute tactical recovery operations.

- Strategic Process Improvement: Recommend and develop cutting-edge technical policies and operational workflows to streamline software delivery and systems engineering processes.

- Position requires travel which will be performed in accordance with Joint Travel Regulation

- This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).

- Must be able to obtain and maintain Cyberspace qualification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03

Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Ability to lead, plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.

2. Knowledge of electronics engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.

3. Knowledge of software and hardware test requirements, specifications, and how they are converted into automated test and operational flight programs, along with a knowledge of test system instrumentation and their appropriate design application to engineering testing requirements, and how they integrate with avionics software and hardware systems and of the OFP development environment to effectively accomplish assigned functions and fulfill the mission.

4. Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and security requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, TOs, and/or directives.

5. Skill at software/hardware integration and troubleshooting and at applying professional judgment in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative approaches and in devising solutions or conclusions to highly complex problems, both programmatic and technical.

6. Ability to plan, conduct, and record engineering investigations and inspections; to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely and economical solutions; to plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to develop written guidelines, procedures, and policies; and to maintain good working relations.

7. Ability to plan and monitor large and complex engineering or scientific projects; to search out and development new or greatly modified methods and approaches so as to assure applicable objectives, standards, and requirements are met; and to adapt precedents or make significant departures from previous approaches to similar projects in order to provide for specialized requirements of some projects.
