The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time 402nd Software Engineering Group Director (NH-0855/1550-04) to work at Air Force Materiel Command, (AFMC) in the Air Force Sustainment Center(AFSC) for the 402nd Software Engineering Group (SWEG/CL) location at Robins Air Force Base, in Warner Robins, Georgia. Director, 402nd Software Engineering Group (402 SWEG)

Are you ready to Lead a premier, high-performing software engineering organization? As a senior executive leader, you will command the development of Mission Critical Computer Resources (MCCR) and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) software that directly powers the nation's most advanced aerospace and defense systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Leadership: Exercise 2nd-level (or higher) managerial authority over the 402 SWEG, driving organizational strategy, professional development, and technical execution.

- Software & Avionics Modernization: Direct the design, modification, and modernization of critical flight software and hardware-in-the-loop test systems.

- Acquisition & Partnerships: Drive lifecycle support for Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) programs and lead strategic workload negotiations with key defense partners.

- Rapid Engineering Support: Serve as the Automatic Test Systems focal point, providing on-site engineering to identify and resolve critical software deficiencies.

Who You Are:

- A proven leader of leaders with a track record of driving technical excellence and managing large organizational budgets and schedules.

- An expert in complex software engineering lifecycles (avionics, high-order/assembly languages, or automated test systems).

- A strategic communicator skilled at translating complex technical issues for executive-level decision-makers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- U.S. Citizenship

- Obtain & maintain a Top Secret security clearance

- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

- Work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid license may be required for the position.

- Subject to recall during non-duty hours, weekends, and holidays to complete proposals and/or resolve software problems

Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Professional knowledge of electronics engineering and/or computer science concepts, theories, principles, and

practices and working knowledge of other technical disciplines, such as information technology, aerospace,

industrial, mechanical, and/or electrical engineering; of a broad range of engineering standards, precedents,

methods, and techniques to ensure work in compliance with regulations and standards; and the applicability of

such knowledge to the full range of duties concerned with the development, acquisition, implementation and

sustainment of a cybersecure, digital environment in the depot sustainment activity.

2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

3. Knowledge of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures.

4. Ability to utilize Art of the Possible concepts and initiatives to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.

5. Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, standard configuration and finding regulations, practices and processes

related to system acquisition and sustainment management functions.
