About the Position:

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Intelligence Analyst Supervisor in our Intelligence Operations Directorate (IOD) Virginia Fusion Center (VFC) located in Fairfax, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
• Providing support for law enforcement investigations and special events, development of tactical and strategic intelligence products, and building and maintaining partnerships for the VSP.
• Serving as a conduit between the VFC and the Northern Virginia Regional Intelligence Center (NVRIC) and facilitating the exchange of homeland security information and intelligence with public and private sector partners.
• Overseeing production planning and ensuring collaboration among analysts and partners.
• Providing and supporting the analysis of multi-faceted data to show methods, trends, and patterns relating to the Division VII region as well as manage projects relating to these topics as needed.
• Responsible for training analysts assigned, ensuring they are proficient in databases and resources used.
• Helping with special projects in the VFC and NVRIC as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge:
• Considerable knowledge of research and analysis techniques and project management techniques.
• Working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations relating to criminal intelligence and their proper application.
• Working knowledge of supervisory principles, practices, and techniques.

Skills:
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Skill in other analysis software programs, or open-source software applications to produce visual graphics, written products, briefings, and GIS-based analytical dashboards.

Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver briefings and written reports regarding complex intelligence issues at the appropriate level for intended audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to complete work under critical timelines.
• Demonstrated ability to meet project objectives and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee the work activities of staff.
• Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback to personnel.
• Demonstrated ability to proofread and edit written materials to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Demonstrated ability to create finished intelligence products through research and analysis of diverse datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to determine reliability and validity of information.
• Demonstrated ability to reach sound analytic assessments and develop intelligence requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with public and private sector partners.
• Analytical experience to include criminal analytical training.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain federal security clearance.
• Requires three-year commitment to the Virginia Fusion Center and ability to be on call for after hours as well as work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Additional Considerations
• Public safety experience or other broad scope governmental experience desired.
• Skill in using Palantir, PenLink, I2 Analyst Notebook, ArcGIS preferred.
