About the Position:
The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire a Video Production Manager in our Public Relations Center at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
• Serving as the Agency's lead authority for multimedia communication, integrating creative direction, strategic planning, and operational oversight of all video content and production for the Virginia State Police.
• Developing and executing high-impact visual storytelling that supports public trust, recruitment, training, and statewide communication initiatives.
• Shaping multimedia strategy directing production from concept through final delivery, and collaborating with leadership, divisions, and external partners to ensure consistent messaging aligned with Agency priorities.
• Ensuring a strong internal control environment, maintaining high professional standards, and advancing the Agency's multimedia capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge:
• Advanced knowledge of cinematography, video production, lighting, audio capture, editing workflows, and digital storytelling.
• Understanding of modern digital communication practices and accessibility standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large-scale projects in fast-paced environments.
Skills:
• Skill in converting written content into compelling visual narratives.
• Skill in operating, configuring, and maintaining video production systems and equipment.
Abilities:
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication abilities.
• Ability to lead creative projects that support mission-critical communication goals.
• Ability to mentor staff and maintain a collaborative, high-performance creative culture.
• Ability to remain flexible and adapt to emerging technologies and communication strategies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and subject matter experts.
• Progressive experience in professional multimedia or video production or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Proficiency in editing software, camera systems, lighting, audio equipment.
• Experience producing content for digital platforms and communications.
• Experience working collaboratively with diverse teams and subject matter experts.
• Experience supervising or mentoring creative staff.
• Experience with professional video cameras, lighting systems, audio gear, editing software, cloud storage systems.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Additional Considerations
• Experience working with public safety, government, or law enforcement communications.
• Knowledge of ADA guidelines for digital presentations.
