We are seeking a dynamic Intellectual Property (IP) Paralegal to join our team and support the management of the company's IP and brand protection matters across Equinox Group and its diverse portfolio of brands, including Equinox Fitness, Equinox+, SoulCycle, and Equinox Hotels. This role requires substantive expertise in IP and brand protection portfolio management. The ideal candidate is a highly detail-oriented professional who brings both precision and creativity, with the ability to proactively recommend solutions that safeguard Equinox's intellectual property assets on a global scale. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure consistent and effective protection of our brands. This New York City based role sits within the Commercial Legal team at our Hudson Yards office and reports to the Vice President & Deputy General Counsel. Responsibilities: • Manage global intellectual property and brand protection matters (trademark, patent, copyright), with a focus on worldwide trademark portfolio. • Prepare and file trademark applications, Statements of Use, amendments, and renewals. • Draft responses to USPTO and international office actions and notifications. • Conduct trademark clearance searches and analysis. • Support attorneys in enforcement matters by drafting and sending cease and desist letters and handling on-line enforcement (including DMCA and UDRP proceedings). • Partner with US and international counsel on filing, prosecution, registration, renewals, and disputes. • Track IP deadlines and manage global docket and confirm accuracy of IP records. • Run IP coverage gap assessments and recommend new filings. • Review marketing campaigns, social media content, and promotional materials for IP and advertising compliance. • Build and maintain IP and brand protection playbooks and workflows. • Work collaboratively across the Legal Department on a variety of cross-functional initiatives. Qualifications • Minimum of 5-7 years of legal experience handling intellectual property and brand protection matters. • Prior in-house experience is a plus, with experience at a luxury consumer-facing brand preferred. • Proficient in trademark portfolio management tools such as CPI. • Experience in both US and international IP preferred. • Experience in marketing review and influencer agreements a plus. • Excellent academic credentials. • Position will be based at our NYC headquarters. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other internet research tools. • Bachelor's degree and/or completion of an ABA-approved paralegal program. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and internet research tools. • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities. • Exceptional organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail. • Dependable team player who brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach and fosters a respectful, collaborative environment. • Exceptional verbal and written skills.
