Job Description:

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Integration Engineer to join our team, supporting the Integrated Healthcare Transformation (IHT) initiative at the Department of Veterans Affairs. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) by advising on integrating utility and IT systems into operational unites to achieve full functionality.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating with development and user teams to assess risks, set goals, and ensure requirements are me throughout design and construction.
  • Identify and introducing new infrastructure while minimizing disruptions, managing technical aspects of large federal projects, and providing expertise in network IT and MEP system designs.
  • Perform construction forensics and continuously address project risks and needs at every stage.
  • Measure program success, outcomes, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support the management of projects and programs to enhance productivity and performance.
  • Develop and contribute to program reports, briefings, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with VHA leadership and cross-functional teams to align program goals with Veteran healthcare needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Engineering, Construction Management, Facility Architecture, Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, including experience in engineering, construction project/program management.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to evaluate and assess effectiveness of the operations.
  • Ability to manipulate data to present program status and make recommendations on improving business processes.
  • Background in clinical informatics and SAFe's Lean Agile principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for producing reports and engaging stakeholders.
  • MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM).
  • Experience supporting federal healthcare initiatives, especially within the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Active Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.

Eligibility:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.
