Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Integration and Test Engineer (Lead) (26-436) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Based in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.

This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.

Position Overview:

The C2BMC program is a key component of the Missile Defense System (MDS). It enables the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and Combatant Commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan missile defense operations, monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities, providing optimized responses to threats across all ranges and flight phases, and serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations worldwide.

As the Deputy Software Integration Lead Engineer, you will work closely with the Software Integration Lead to plan, coordinate, and execute complex integration activities for C2BMC capabilities. You will lead a team of integrators, manage work scope and priorities, ensure Earned Value Management (EVM) compliance, and drive technical rigor across integration, installation, configuration, and verification activities.

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with Software Integration Lead to provide day-to-day leadership and direction for a team of software integrators supporting C2BMC I&T

  • Plan and manage teamwork using Jira or equivalent tools, including forecasting velocity and bandwidth, and ensuring tasks align with EVM and programmatic commitments

  • Ensure team execution remains compliant with Earned Value Management (EVM) practices, including status reporting, schedule adherence, and risk/issue management

  • Lead installation and configuration of Linux and Windows hardware platforms—from the operating system layer through to C2BMC-developed applications—across lab and operational environments

  • Develop, document, and verify all installation and configuration steps in formal documentation to be delivered to the customer, ensuring repeatability and auditability

  • Develop and maintain installation scripts and automation to streamline and standardize system installation and configuration

  • Develop test plans and detailed procedures for software integration test conduct; lead integration and test execution, perform detailed data analysis, and prepare comprehensive software test reports

  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of software integration tests to verify correct system operation, performance, and interfaces

  • Work closely with software developers to diagnose and identify root causes of issues discovered during integration; submit clear, actionable problem reports for errors found

  • Implement all Information Assurance (IA) directives on assigned systems, including running IA scans, analyzing results, and coordinating remediation activities

  • Task and coordinate daily integration activities with local team members and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (development, test, IA, operations)

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of integration processes, tools, and documentation to increase efficiency, quality, and system reliability in a fast-paced environment

Basic Qualifications:

Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree

  • Applicants must have a current, active Government-Issued 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their 8140 certifications throughout the entire contract period

  • Applicants must have a current, active in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities, requirements, and schedules

  • Strong skills in software integration planning and execution, including experience integrating complex, distributed mission or enterprise systems

  • Ability to develop or gain in-depth expertise in the C2BMC Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and user interface to effectively validate and troubleshoot system behavior

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with software developers, system administrators, analysts, and test engineers

  • Proven ability to decompose high-level requirements into actionable integration tasks, test steps, and problem reports

  • Non-standard work hours may occasionally be required to support integration events, IA activities, or critical test campaigns

  • Limited travel may be required to support integration, test events, or coordination with other sites and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:
