Description

The Training System Integrated Solution Leader (ISL) – Future Fighter Lead-In Trainer (FFLIT) is part of a team of senior training development professionals responsible for designing end-to-end training solutions for defense forces and paramilitary organizations worldwide. The role leverages CAE’s simulation technologies, training methodologies, and industry partnerships to develop integrated training systems that address customer operational requirements.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the definition and development of fully integrated training solutions from early customer engagement activities (pre-RFP) through capture, proposal development, and contract award.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for training solution matters with internal stakeholders, customers, end users, and industry partners.
  • Collaborate with domain experts and industry partners to define comprehensive training programs supporting individual, team, and collective training requirements.
  • Participate in training product research and development roadmap activities to support current and future customer training needs while improving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership to capture teams on large Training System Integration (TSI) opportunities.
  • Direct Training Task Analysis, Training Needs Analysis, Training Media Analysis, and Training Curriculum Design activities in collaboration with technical leads, learning specialists, subject matter experts, and customer representatives.
  • Integrate CAE technologies, standard products, and subcontractor capabilities into cohesive training solutions.
  • Apply training development processes, modern tools, and multidisciplinary team approaches to training solution design.
  • Work closely with system architects to ensure training requirements are appropriately translated into engineering and courseware requirements.
  • Support execution strategy development, including make-buy analysis, strategic partner selection, workshare planning, and offset requirement considerations.
  • Prepare and deliver solution reviews to communicate technical, programmatic, and commercial aspects of proposed solutions.
  • Facilitate cost estimation and risk assessment activities across stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with training solution design, deployment, and delivery.
  • Present and review training solutions with customers and end users during business capture and proposal phases.
  • Ensure proposed integrated training solutions provide effective, cost-conscious, and lifecycle-focused training outcomes, including academic, synthetic, simulation-based, and Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) training environments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in industry and/or military service.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience developing and/or delivering operational or maintenance training programs within the defense sector.
  • Previous aircrew experience within the Canadian Armed Forces or a NATO member nation.
  • Experience leading large-scale training development, training integration, engineering, or related complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of training system development principles and integrated training solutions.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering development processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to support capture strategies and proposal development activities.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Availability to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Canadian and/or NATO Secret Security Clearances.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aircrew Instructor experience.
  • Fighter aircraft or fighter lead-in training experience within Canadian or NATO environments.
  • Knowledge of Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) fighter training and lead-in fighter training programs.
  • Experience with the Canadian defense procurement process.
  • Knowledge of military weapons range operations, including Cold Lake, Bagotville, or Goose Bay training environments.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Warfare (EW) threats and target replication.
  • Knowledge of military operationalization training and air-to-air range infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI) and other podded systems.
  • Working knowledge of military flight safety, airworthiness, flight operations, and/or maintenance repair organizations.
  • Knowledge of CAE training solutions and modeling and simulation systems.
  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
