About the role

The Insurance Operations Specialist plays a critical role in managing our loss fund operations. This position is responsible for processing claims payments, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors, tracking carrier funding needs, and maintaining comprehensive records. The ideal candidate will excel at detailed reporting and data reconciliation, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance processes for loss fund management, including workflow documentation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Onboard and support vendors on our internal payment portal to ensure a seamless claims payment experience.
  • Accurately process and disburse claims payments from the loss fund for all approved claims.
  • Prepare and submit detailed claims payment reports to carrier partners, meeting all required formats and deadlines.
  • Reconcile large datasets for payments and claims, proactively identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Monitor loss fund balances, request additional carrier funding as needed, and maintain thorough documentation of all transactions.
  • Collaborate with the claims team to ensure payment accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Participate in special projects to optimize operational processes and support business growth.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects, reporting requests, financial audits, and system testing as required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in insurance claims operations, finance, or accounting roles, ideally within a high-growth, dynamic environment.
  • Systems experience with Netsuite or Coupa ideal
  • Advanced Excel and data management skills, with experience handling large datasets.
  • Experience with vendor onboarding and payment portals is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, analyze data, identify discrepancies, and solve problems independently.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $79,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $98,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location. Your recruiter can share more on target salary for your location during the interview process. Coalition, Inc. reserves the right to modify this range as needed.
