Description and RequirementsGeneral Description: Responsible for the marketing/placement of small commercial lines (Select) accounts with carriers. Includes negotiating carrier coverages and terms, preparation of proposals, and the binding process. Support Select commercial lines producers.
Responsibilities:- Utilize carrier rating tools to obtain comprehensive and competitive quotes for accounts up to 15k in revenue.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the internal sales team and carrier partners.
- Lead marketing review meetings to understand client's insurance needs.
- Assist in coordinating carrier engagement meetings.
- Market insurance opportunity to carrier partners for interest.
- Complete follow-up calls to carrier underwriters. Negotiate terms with carriers on client's behalf.
- Manage submission inventory, including terms, rates, commission, and carrier responses and bind coverage with underwriters.
- Act as technical expert on market trends, pricing practices, and other underwriting policies.
- Participate in carrier meetings and communicate information to Select operations and sales teams.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management systems.
- Adhere to the National Code Strategy in assigned region.
- Keep current with industry, new product information, coverages, and technology.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• 3-5 years of experience in Commercial Property & Casualty. Comprehensive understanding of all Property & Casualty insurance coverages, placement, underwriting, and rating concepts.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must hold a Property & Casualty insurance license.
• Industry designation such as CIC, ARM, AAI, CPCU preferred.
• Comfortable with internet-based programs and navigating carrier marketing websites.
• Proficient with Power BI and data analytic tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate work.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
