Instrumentation Technician (full time)

The Instrumentation and Controls Technician is responsible for supporting Linde's Air Separation Plant's operation by maintaining all plant Instrumentation and Electrical Equipment (i.e. control devices, PLCs, process computers, process analyzers, transmitters, pneumatic control devices and electrical equipment).
What you will enjoy doing* - In this role, you will report to the Plant Manager and support the operation of Linde's CO2 & H2 Plants by maintaining all plant instrumentation and electrical equipment
- You will calibrate and test critical safety systems, equipment protection devices, and quality control components to ensure reliable and safe operation
- Troubleshoot and replace failed or defective instrumentation, including actuators, regulators, solenoids, transmitters, switches, sensors, and analyzers is part of your role
- Maintain the plant PLCs, including troubleshooting issues, replacing cards, and implementing logic changes as required
- You will manage the instrumentation preventative maintenance work order system and ensure work is completed on schedule
- Order replacement parts and components, maintain critical spare parts inventory, and keep control systems databases up to date
- Plan and execute plant turnaround work in coordination with the operations and maintenance teams
- You will travel to remote facilities as needed and respond to after-hours service calls (evenings and weekends) to ensure continuity of plant operations
What makes you great* - AEC or DEP in industrial automation, with a Journeyman certificate in Industrial Instrumentation and/or Electrical
- You have three to five (3-5) years of experience in an industrial plant environment; experience with process, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems preferred
Industrial gas or pharmaceutical industry experience is an asset - Strong technical skills, including working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, Rosemount instruments, and maintaining / calibrating process analyzers
- Further, you have the ability to read and understand schematic wiring diagrams and process diagrams, with a systematic approach to troubleshooting in process control, instrumentation, and electrical control
- Experience with high / medium voltage switchgear, computerized maintenance management systems, and proactive planning / scheduling of maintenance is required for this role
- Highly organized, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work; reliable and comfortable working with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- You have a valid driver's license with a clean abstract
- Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb vertical ladders, work extended hours / shift work as required, concentrate in loud environments, and travel 30-40% to Linde installations
- The work will involve both office settings and exposure to manufacturing and outdoor construction sites, including some weekend or night work
This is an existing position with a starting salary of $133,724.43.
