Job Highlights

  • Responsible for the installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of field instruments.
  • Field Instruments include pressure / temperature / flow / level transmitters, switches, analyzers, recorders, controllers, I/P's, control valves, boiler control systems, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC and DCS hardware problems.
  • Ability to work outdoors in an industrial environment.
  • Install and maintain instruments on new or existing plant equipment and processes.
  • The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 7 a.m. - 330 p.m. Must be willing to work overtime and respond to calls on weekends and evenings as needed.


Experience / Skills

  • Two year degree or certificate in Instrument Technology or related field
  • Ability to troubleshoot open and closed loop systems and controllers
  • Bench set actuators and mounts for control valves
  • Install and set up a positioner on a control valve
  • Interpret valve markings and nameplate information
  • Identify valve components from specific drawings
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Work in a safe manner and use proper safety equipment
  • This position requires the ability to
    • Walk, climb, squat, bend, kneel, crawl, twist or stand for long periods of time.
    • Lift/carry up to 60 lbs.
    • Wear necessary PPE including respirator and SCBA (must be clean shaven)
    • Work in a physical outdoor industrial environment (including during inclement weather).
    • Work in confined spaces and at elevated locations.
    • Use a fire extinguisher or other firefighting equipment in emergency situations.
    • Successfully pass the pre-screening requirements, including a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), Respirator test (must be clean shaven) and drug screen.
