Full Job Description
As our new Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for stamping drawings and schematics, contributing to backfill plant design, commissioning instrumentation and industrial control systems and providing technical leadership and mentorship to staff within the team. You'll play a key role on our busy and growing Sudbury team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide E&I engineering technical support, working with teams to deliver solutions
  • Prepare design deliverables, including datasheets, process control, diagrams, plot plans, control schematics, and engineering work packages, including installation details, control panel design, and termination details
  • Define the scope of work, budget and schedule along with the team
  • Conduct detailed reviews and authenticate deliverables
  • Participate in project meetings between engineering, project management, operations, and clients
  • Extensive experience leading and delivering instrumentation and controls engineering within mining or heavy industrial sectors
  • Strong expertise in PLC, DCS, SCADA systems, and process automation platforms
  • Proven ability to develop control narratives, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and I/O lists
  • Experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational support in industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of safety systems, hazardous area classification, and applicable codes and standards
  • Ability to lead complex projects and mentor junior staff while maintaining high technical excellence

  • The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $145,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:
  • 10-15 years of combined consulting and mining industry experience
  • Experience and capabilities to thoroughly check I&C deliverables
  • Relevant experience in commissioning instrumentation and industrial control systems
  • Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering discipline
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng)
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required
