What you will enjoy doing*- You will support and maintain instrumentation and electrical equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with procedures, policies, processes, and regulatory requirements
- Apply instrumentation and electrical knowledge to set priorities and complete activities with minimal supervision
- Understand, assess, troubleshoot, and refurbish pneumatic and electronic instrumentation, electrical equipment, and analytical applications
- Support plants in Wilmington, Long Beach, and El Segundo, California
- And you will follow safe work permit processes, policies, and procedures
- Provide technical expertise in consultation with engineering and reliability resources
- Create and update accurate instrumentation service reports using a computerized maintenance management system
- Calibrate, test, and functionally check instrumentation, analyzers, control systems, and control elements
- Further, you will optimize work activities related to planned and unplanned equipment outages
- Assist in the training and development of new employees
- Assess and resolve priority-based instrumentation and electrical issues as they arise
- Communicate directly with OEM vendors and suppliers
- Understand, diagnose, and correct control loop input/output, including 4-20 mA and 3-15 psi
- And you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct electrical system issues up to 600V
- Understand switchgear control systems and functionally rack breakers in and out
What makes you great - You have a high school diploma or equivalent required; associate in applied sciences degree or equivalent apprenticeship preferred
- Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and refurbishing instrumentation in a continuous chemical operation environment
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and resolve technical problems
- Relevant computer and technical skills, including Allen Bradley ControlLogix experience
- You have ability to use instrument calibration and electrical testing equipment and read and interpret P&IDs, SWDs, and single-line diagrams
- Ability to be trained in the operation of mobile equipment, including forklifts and manlifts
- Available to work overtime and weekends as required
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- You have a current and valid driver's license
- Capable of meeting the physical demands of the job, including lifting 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, working in tight and closed spaces, and wearing all required personal protective equipment, including respirators
